Dramatic Rescue: Firefighters Save Woman After Fall Onto Hackensack Railroad Tracks

Hackensack firefighters sprang into action overnight to rescue a woman who had fallen onto railroad tracks.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, according to the Hackensack Fire Department. 

Members of the Fourth Platoon, led by Deputy Chief J. Ingallinera, executed a high-angle rope rescue to reach the female victim who had fallen below Summit Avenue and American Legion Drive.

Firefighters quickly accessed the scene, stabilized the woman, and secured her for transport to an area hospital. 

Hackensack Police Chief Michael Antista said no criminality was suspected and the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The rescue highlights the specialized training and coordination of the Hackensack Fire Department in responding to complex emergency situations.
